Rocket Raccoon #1: One fluffy epic comic book tale

Rocket Raccoon #1 Marvel
As defenders of the cosmos go, Rocket Raccoon has faced his fair share of galactic battles. He’s been a hero to the weak, a champion of good, a protector of the innocent, a heartthrob to the many intergalactic female species and now--a raccoon on the run?! Rocket’s high-flying life of adventure and heroism may soon be a thing of the past when he becomes a wanted man—and the authorities are not the only one on his TAIL!

Along with the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie you can now see Rocket Raccoon on the pages of a comic book once again. Skottie Young (the writer & artist) creates a unique and creative world for Rocket Raccoon that drags you in before you flip the first page. Young's playful, witty and energetic writing style makes him the perfect fit for the character Rocket. The artwork throughout the first book is spot on, perfect for this series. I find my self exploring like a treasure hunter searching to find hidden details tucked away in the art.

Jean-Francois Beaulieu is Young's go to colorist really knows how to bring life to Young's art. His use of vibrant colors along with shadows and lighting are spectacular. One of my favorite scenes in the first issue is the wrestling match with Groot.

All in all this is a beautifully written and looking comic book and a great start to a new series. That one Nerd gives it a 5 star rating! Get it today!
